It has been a while ..and at 3:30am I need it

So here I am on this High and the withdrawls are killin me.. The High of seeing my family, of being in the limelight of excitement, of having a place to go and something to do. ...Am I satisfied with what I have or is there always more out there somewhere.

I guess I should have known when my Mother told me I was the type of child who thought I was always missing out on something. I never wanted to go to bed or leave somewhere because I just knew there was a party going on that I was not going to attend ...or maybe everyone was doing something after I left and I was not going to be there to partake ...who knows

But what I miss right now

I miss the fact I can drive three blocks and be in a home I spent 20 years in
I miss I can see my parents
I miss that I can see my best friend I have known for 30 years
I miss friends who care
I miss I have great weather
I miss a multitude of stores to lose my mind in making a wish list of material wants and desires
I miss that in a minute I know where I am and how to get to where I want to be
I miss what once was

Then I come down from this High and see what I have now

I have a wonderful Husband that I spend more time with
I have more time to be with my beautiful Son and see him grow into a wonderful man
I have friends who care and are there to support
I have scenery that I would have never seen

Then I think what do I want

I want everything!!! I want a merge of the two

My family to always be with me
My parents to be with me
My friends to all be here with me
The comfort of my space and areas around me
The scenery of peace

I guess life is not perfect and we have what we have or what we go get

I haven't been able to get this song out of my head. You know the one I'm talking about ... the first time you remembered hearing it was sooo many years ago and then poof it's on the radio ....hmm like a few days ago. I have been out of my head with it ...it's on my myspace, my ipod, my blog ....everywhere I listen to it all the time and I'm singing it, humming it or dancing while I hear it going through my head. I look forward to hearing it by chance at the store or at work and when I don't I make it happen as soon as I can I'm listening to it over and over again. Crazy Crazy Crazy for this song hahahaha

Peeves

I've been peevin' on things... just random things, so I thought I should list them ...hmm maybe seeing them in front of me will either irritate me more or make me laugh at them


1. Why is it when I'm using the self check out does the scanner always say SEE ATTENDANT ...isn't that why I choose self check out so I wouldn't have to see an attendant.

2. Why do I keep finding empty boxes of food in my pantry...and I only find out they are empty when I need whatever it was in the box

3. Why do most public restrooms not have seat cover protectors!! YUCK
I get a great squat workout while I hover to go

4. Why are there less cart returns in the new Kroger parking lot...It's a bigger store which means more carts and a bigger parking lot. No... I do not want you to help me with my groceries!!!

5. Yes.... I am old enough to have a 16 year old ...Blake is alive ...right?

6. The car salesman said if I gave him my number he wouldn't bother me... So why do you call me everyday ..now I screen my calls ...Thank you

7. Why do I have to pay extra for a recycling bin ....when I am giving you cans that will give your company money

8. Why is it that when you call customer service the call is so long the battery on your cordless phone dies and you then need to call back and spend another hour on the phone

9. Why is it that my dog still has any hair...because all of it is all over my floors

9. a My husband says how do I still have any hair ....because it is all in my sink drain

10. Why didn't I think of this sooner

Wrong #'s

I have been off work the last two days. Which I can't complain about I got some things done, Monday I took down Halloween decorations and put up Fall decorations, ran some errands like grocery shopping and did some laundry ...oh so fun. Blake spent the night at a friends house because there is no school on Tuesday due to election day. I found this odd ...I know election day is important but to shut down school is unreal...Never would this happen in CA haaha

Tuesday so far has been cake...slept in (which I miss, having to be at work at 8am) and Blake and I have been watching episodes of HOUSE while I knit. It's now 2:15pm and I think it's time we start our real day LOL

But a funny thing happened Steve calls me and tells me his Dad received a message on his voicemail that I am not needed on Thursday at work. This is strange because why would they call my father-in-law and why couldn't they just tell me that on Wednesday when I show up for work...WEIRD. So I start thinking hmm I have enjoyed my two days off but hmmm I wanted to work Thursday =(
I call into work and ask Mike, a co-worker that somebody there left a message for me not to come in Thursday. He thinks I'm crazy because nobody called anybody and I am scheduled to work on Thursday. Now this is really getting WEIRD. I call my father-in-law and he plays the message...."Hi Nicole, this is Sasha from the spa..we don't need you to come in on Thursday because we don't have the hours booked"
First of all I don't work at a spa...although that may be nice haha and I feel sorry for the other Nicole wherever she is.... when she shows up on Thursday for work and they send her home. Weird I say...WEIRD
I guess I really like my job because I was kind of bummed when I thought I wasn't scheduled for Thursday

TV

Ok so I am one to watch TV for sure ....

I started with Sesame Street I love it and will always love it.. I watched "Captain Kangaroo" "Electric Company" "David and Goliath" I loved cartoons.........I stuck with that until sitcoms came about I remember when I was a teenager my fav shows were "Cosby Show" and "The Fresh Prince" I couldn't get enough of them. Still now I love to watch re-runs of Fresh Prince and have passed this love onto my son, Blake.
I moved up a notch as the need for social drama came into my life watching "90210" and 'Melrose Place" and that wasn't enough for me I got sucked into "Jerry Springer" "Montel" "Maury Povich" "Jenny Jones" all the crazy shows. Oh how I loved screaming at the TV ... You know you cheated on her!!!....of course that's your baby!!! It was great diving into a life that was not yours to get some DRAMA and Chaos. After you heard the same thing over and over again...the Drama and Chaos soon became a headache ...I began to think ...Oh my gosh...why? Why are these people living the life they are...and none the less showing the whole world. It didn't seem as fascinating to me anymore. So no more crazy talk shows for me.
I moved onto more serious drama like "X files "and "ER" "Sex in the City" now this got me thinking a little bit more but not much ...I still got a little bit of the dysfunctional relationships and some mystery or suspense as well. Now I watch "Lipstick Jungle" it is a show supposed to be similar to"Sex in the City" but ...Nothing will or can replace "Sex in the City" hahaa
Hmm what about sitcoms ....I did watch "That 70's show" which I love to watch reruns when I catch them Now the only one is "Samantha Who?" I love this show it's 30 min long 15min if you have it TIVO'd and run through the commercials .
Then there is REALITY TV ...Oh how soon I am sucked into this.. The "REAL WORLD" had to be my first ...it was the buzz ...these were not actors so of course all of it had to be true ...you just saw this cameraman following them around so how could it not be hahaha...It was great I watched them all good and bad "Temptation Island" "Who wants to Marry A Millionaire" "Married by America" "Survivor" "Fear Factor" "American Idol"and so many more I can't remember ...Reality TV expanded into everything cooking, singing, sports, weight loss, parenting, marriage, home decor, wardrobes, shopping, buying a house, ....whatever it is there is a show or soon will be a show for it. I am totally consumed with Reality TV ....I love it! The shows have it all DRAMA, CHAOS, SUSPENSE, MYSTERY ...tricks of the trade and some learning tools too!!!
The all fit into your life someway ...You want a show your captivated by for 6-12 weeks fine watch "American Idol" or " Dancing with the Stars" ....do you want a quick final result watch "10 years Younger"or " What not to Wear"

I guess I have a well rounded selection of TV in my life hahaha

I support some networks more than others ...umm like HGTV
...I wish some shows would have never ended ummm like "Sex in the City" my all time favorite and some shows I'm looking forward to watching like "Blush" on Lifetime ...a realty show about make artists

I Tivo all my shows so who knows what channel or Network its on ....or even what time they air ....How in the world did I survive without this awesome invention hahahaha

Memories of sleep

When I was younger I remember my friend spending the night and the next morning waking up to them staring at my face.... waiting for me to wake up. They would be rummaging through my yearbooks and picture albums for hours waiting for me to finally get up

When Blake was just a newborn ...he slept with me in the "family bed" bed so there were not many sleepless nights. He just snuggled right into me until the next feeding...then poof right back to bed.


Today... I get up to go to work at 6:30am hitting the snooze button at few times till it's 7am. I stumble into the shower for 15 or so mins then drag myself out to get ready. I think ....Thank God I wear a hat to work so I don't have to take the time to " Tame the Mane". I go downstairs look at the clock it's 7:30am ...No time for coffee, I will get it on the road. Stop at the Ingels Quick Mart for coffee...YUCK! never again. By this time it's 7:40am and I'm starting to think I maybe late to work ....Thinking again in my CA mentality...that the traffic might hold me up. I get to work at 7:50am just in time and 10min before the Mgr.

Work was good today got there at 7:50 -off by 11:45am ....My kind of day!

So why am I so tired that I fall asleep while watching a movie on the couch for some 2 1/2 hrs
Is it because I didn't go to bed until 12:30am??? Maybe ....It was relaxing so I can't complain
so now I'm here pecking at keys wiping the sleep from eyes. I guess it's time to start my day at 4:19pm

Ok up and running...well up and trotting

I think I'm getting the hang of some of these features...A lot more to play around with
